Smoke Alarms

Recently I have come across a number of properties with non complaint smoke alarms with the customer unaware that there was anything wrong with them at all. Here is a few signs your smoke alarm needs replacing

1. The smoke alarm is more than 10 years old

2. The smoke alarm has lost its white colour and is now a yellow colour

3. When you press the test button nothing happens

4. The smoke alarm has a constant beep even after battery replacement

5. It goes off for no reason

Take 2 minutes out of your day to go check your smoke alarm and see if it passes the test.

Installing a smoke alarm is a critical step in ensuring home safety. It’s not just about compliance; it's about protecting lives. Ensure it’s fitted on every level of your home, ideally in hallways and bedrooms. The process is straightforward, but if in doubt, always consult a professional.
